Caring for the whole person

Medication for Opioid Use Disorder

A cornerstone of our clinic is medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD). MOUD can provide individuals the help they need to recover from an opioid use disorder. MOUD is the medical standard of care for the treatment of opioid use disorder and is the single most effective treatment according to the FDA.

Our facility offers a safe, comfortable environment that promotes a path toward recovery by utilizing (MOUD) and a custom plan for every patient. Treatment with MOUD is proven to reduce opioid use more effectively when compared to programs that use placebos or no medication at all.

We Care Daily Clinics offers patients all three FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder: methadone, buprenorphine (including Suboxone and Sublocade), and naltrexone (including Vivitrol).

Measurement of success in treating addiction is generally based on an individual’s needs and goals as structured within their unique care plan for recovery. One measure of success will be for patients to achieve the goals and objectives specified in their plan of care activities. This may include their ability to regain meaningful employment or possibly rebuild familial relationships.

Like other chronic diseases, addiction often involves cycles of relapse and remission. Because of the progressive nature of addiction, disability or premature death often result if an individual is not able to access treatment or engage in appropriate recovery activities.

Medication for Opioid Use Disorder cuts the risk of death from overdose in half compared to people in counseling alone, or not in treatment.

The Muckleshoot Indian Tribe’s ongoing collaboration with the University of Washington has already helped the Tribe develop one of the country’s leading Office Based Opioid Treatment Programs serving AI/AN. The Tribe hosts a yearly “Opiate Symposium” for medical and Substance Use Disorder Professionals from Alaska and Northwest Tribes, and Tribal Councils & Executive Leaders are actively involved in an Anti-Drug Task Force, dedicating significant funds and resources to take on this Tribal and local epidemic.

Behavioral Health Counseling

Our program works to modify behaviors and address traumas that may lead individuals to misuse opioids. We treat existing psychiatric disorders through counseling and/or cognitive behavioral therapies suited to the individual.

We Care Daily Clinics has Substance Use Disorder Professionals (SUDP), Agency Affiliated Counselors, and Certified Peer Counselors (CPC) serving the behavioral health counseling side of the clinic. WCDC provides group and individual sessions six days a week. Behavioral Health Services also includes screening, brief intervention, referrals, case management, supported employment, supportive housing, and care coordination.

Further Healing

We provide a safe, secure space for those that we treat and their families. Our facility is designed so that all are welcome and can feel comfortable during their time here.

At We care Daily Clinics, we believe it’s important to identify and address medical and psychiatric conditions that lead to, or are effects of, substance use disorder.  All patients admitted to We Care Daily Clinics are assessed at intake and throughout their admission for primary care needs, and are offered treatment or referral for treatment as appropriate. We provide an expanded scope of care for patients who are enrolled in our opioid treatment program in order to fully address the impact of substance use in their lives.

We currently have one Medical Doctor (MD), two Physician’s Assistants-Certified (PA-C) and four Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) all trained in providing basic public care. Everyone who is admitted as a patient is continually assessed for needs within broader primary care and offered treatment or referral as appropriate.

Services offered at We Care Daily Clinics:

  • Peer counseling and housing assistance
  • Contingency management programs
  • Smoking cessation counseling and medication management
  • Transportation service
  • Seasonal flu vaccine clinic
  • Snacks/bag lunch for patients

What is the difference between WCDC and a supervised injection site?*

A supervised consumption site, also known as a supervised injection facility or overdose prevention site, provides a safe and secure location for individuals to consume or use drugs. Professionals are on hand to administer first aid and monitor for overdoses. These sites are primarily focused on harm reduction and reducing fatalities.

WCDC does not permit the use of illicit substances on site. Instead, licensed medical professionals provide FDA-approved medications to those in our care which help people to stop using illicit substances. With the help of these medicines, behavioral health counseling, and other patient-focused services, WCDC provides a pathway to recovery.

Low-Barrier Buprenorphine Treatment with the People’s Harm Reduction Alliance

Mobile Clinics

We are excited to announce an upcoming extension to existing services to include the implementation of mobile clinics in King and Pierce Counties. We Care is one of the first agencies in Washington state to approach this mode of service and is excited to have the opportunity to reach the community in a much larger scope.

The mobile clinics will offer access to the same services that are included in the brick-and-mortar clinic, including clinical services, peer support, transportation, and telehealth. Patients may register to receive services online, over the phone, or in person.
